Overcome negative by positive

Overcome negative by positive

Kindle the power of resistance. Keep up the positive ideal of active service of humanity and pure love. Generate the positive Sattvic counter-currents of energy to combat the downward negative currents of Vasanas. Keep yourself always in a positive state.

Overcome negative thoughts by entertaining positive divine thoughts. Rise from impurity, impotence and faintness of heart. Be bold, be cheerful always. Cultivate Daivi Sampat such as mercy, peace, forgiveness, tolerance, etc. Destroy Asuric Sampat such as arrogance, egoism, pride, anger, lust, etc. You are bound to attain the highest bliss and knowledge.

Happy Diwali

Happy Diwali

Today is festival of lights. Each one of you is light to yourself. But one light is not sufficient to dispel the darkness, you need to light many lights. Like firecrackers, burst your past, let go. Celebrate the life with wisdom. Without wisdom it is not true celebration at all. The wisdom is in knowing that the divinity is with me

~ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Benefits of Truth

Patanjali Yoga Sutra

By the establishment of truthfulness the Yogi gets the power of attaining for himself and others the fruits of work without the works.

When this power of truth will be established with you, then even in dream you will never tell an untruth. You will be true in thought, word, and deed. Whatever you say will be truth. You may say to a man, "Be blessed," and that man will be blessed. If a man is diseased, and you say to him, "Be thou cured," he will be cured immediately.

How to come out of Humiliation

Know that humiliation does not weaken you, it strengthens you. When you have a sense of belongingness, you don't feel humiliated. The more egotistic you are, the more humiliation you feel. So, the ways to come out of humiliation are: Get humiliated! Be childlike, Be crazy, Get steeped in love with the Divine, Be committed to Truth

Life never runs with perfect smoothness, so…

We have great need of forgetting ourselves, Otherwise the world consciousness will grind in to us.

When you find yourselves brooding over self, turn your thought elsewhere. How much we need the Divine blessing! How much we need to think on the Ideal! We need to safeguard ourselves. Life never runs with perfect smoothness, so we need to place ourselves under higher protection. The whole spiritual life is based on unselfishness, in being and becoming something other than the little self. Living devotion to an ideal alone will make us selfless. Contact with a spiritual ideal always fortifies us and brings us a saving sense of consecration.

It is not religion. It is delusion

Demonstrate what your religion has done to you and what is has made out of you. If your religion has not made you selfless, sympathetic, serviceful and sacrificing - then bundle it up and throw it into the sea. It is not religion. It is delusion. Start anew and begin to become truly religious.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in China on Sharad Purnima 2010

BANGALORE: The first Art of Living (AoL) ashram in Beijing will be inaugurated by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Several Art of Living teachers from Bangalore have visited and trained over two dozen Chinese teachers in Shanghai and Beijing in the past two years. AoL courses are taught in 15 cities across the mainland.

This will perhaps be an Indian spiritual leader's first-ever visit to mainland China.

On the two-day tour, beginning October 24, Sri Sri will attend a public satsang at the AoL ashram, which has been co-organized by the state-run Chinese Peoples' Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). On October 25, Sri Sri will be received by Chen Hao Su, President of CPAFFC, and will lead a Health and Happiness yoga camp in Beijing in the afternoon.

He will also be chief guest at a programme entitled, `Conversations of the Masters'. It will be an interactive session between him and other prominent religious leaders such as Chang Da Lin, executive director of the Buddhist Association of China and president of the World Buddhist Peace Foundation; Pundit Ren Fa Rong, president of China Taoist Association and member of National CPPCC standing committee; Cui Zhong San, vice-president of China Tai Chi Chuan Association; Professor Lei Yuan, director of Cultural Institute of Historical Resources in Beijing University.
