Ganesh Bhajan lyrics – Gaaiye Ganpati Jagvandan

This bhajan is the first among a book of poems addressed by Bhakti saint Goswami Tulsidas as personal letters to his ideal, Sri Sita-Ram. This Ganpati bhajan is sung here by Muthuswamy Bharadwaj.

Meaning of bhajan: Gaaiye Ganpati jagvandan

I sing the praise of Ganesh, the son of Shiva and Parvati. Ganesh, who is accomplished, generous and omnipotent. He enjoys sweet modaks (laddoo, a sweet), and gives wisdom and intelligence. Tulsidas, with hands folded in prayer begs the divine power in Ganesh for the blessing that Sri Sita-Ram may always be present in my manas, mind. I pray for that pure mind which is a suitable seat for consciousness of divinity.
