Operate from commitment and not complaint. Let your identity not depend on others.
If others have told you that you are a great speaker,
then you feel you are a great speaker. So your identity is dependent on others.
In fact, others create your identity. Others validate you. It is painful, as you
have invested much on others. Your image is in the hands of others. The fact is,
the real 'I' in us is not created by others. The lower self is a product of
others, but the higher self is our essence. The higher self is a presence. It is
awareness. We have not learnt to operate from that state of being. Hence, we are
alien to ourselves. More...

Surendra Pal shares his observation on the spiritual connection we have with nature:
Human beings have been drawing spiritual inspiration from nature. This has been going on for ages. According to Buddhist philosopher and photographer Daisaku Ikeda, the response to nature's beauty is not merely aesthetic but reflects also the ability to discern a deeper meaning and interconnectedness in things.
By observing an ordinary flower and pondering over its beauty, one could feel inspired to try and unravel the mystery of creation. For hasn't Keats said that "Beauty is truth, truth beauty. That is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
To feel love and compassion for all, observe nature with totality of mind without getting affected by previously constructed images, opinions or past knowledge. Look around to observe things as if you are seeing them for the first time. Become one with the object of observation.More...

Age is just a number, if we understand the concept Ayurvedically. Bharat Savur, co-author of the book ‘Fitness for Life’ explains:
‘Ageing is an unnatural process, declares Ayurveda.’
‘The evidence is compelling: protons, neutrons, electrons, our DNA, electricity — all the things that constitute and run our body — do not age. Therefore, the body cannot age.’
Makes sense alright, but then we do age, and the symptoms are very real…
‘Explains Ayurveda, all these symptoms are due to pragya aparadh — erroneous thinking.’
‘As the Buddha warned, ‘The mind is everything; what you think, you become.’ Sad, fearful, angry thoughts sink into the smriti (memory) of the cell and damage its natural, healing intelligence and skills. Peaceful, cheerful, contented thoughts preserve and stimulate the cells’ memory of wholeness and enable it to take timely corrective measures.’ More...

Henna tattoos are widely available and usually harmless. But certain kinds can cause a powerful allergic reaction.
Henna is a vegetable dye that can be brown, red or green, and it wears off in a matter of days. But to produce a darker color, some tattoo artists add a chemical called para-phenylenediamine, or PPD. The Food and Drug Administration says the only legal use for PPD is as a hair dye.
