Meaning of this sawaiya verse by  Raskhan

My eyes have been arrested by the all attractive sight of Krishna :-)

On seeing Krishna, the treasure of bliss, smile at me, I forget my social attachments. My state is such that I am still like a picture, my body is still, no words escape my lips. Wherever I go, people say, ‘O, she is crazy!’

vishnu-govind

Raskhan says in this sawaiya verse:

Live your daily life normally, but keep your mind on Govind. Just as a village belle returning from the river, carrying pots full of water on her head is behaving normally with her friends, chatting, greeting, walking… Yet, her attention never leaves her water pots on her head. If she is not attentive to her pots, they could crash any time!

This sawaiya verse illustrates poet Raskhan’s search for nirgun and sagun Brahman.

Poet Raskhan says in this sawaiya:

In my next birth, if I am born as a human being, I wish to be born in Gokul as a cowherd boy (so that I get Krishna’s company). If I am born as an animal, I wish I could be a cow in the herd of Nand baba (Krishna’s father) and graze with them. If I am turned into a stone, I wish to be a part of Govardhan hill which was used as shield against raingod Indra’s wrath. If I am a bird I wish to nest in a Kadamb tree on the banks of River Yamuna.

Raskhan’s wish is to be in the company of Krishna or anything that reminds of Him.
