Look fear in the face and it will cease to trouble you.
~ Sri Yukteshwar Giri (in Autobiography of a Yogi)
Patanjali warns that even such exalted yogis are not beyond all danger of relapse.
…Inattention, carelessness, or pride in one’s achievement await opportunity to return, and fissure the consciousness. In this loss of concentration, old thoughts and habits may re-emerge to disturb the harmony of kaivalya.
If this takes place, the yogi has no alternative but to resume his purificatory struggle in the same way as less evolved people combat their own grosser afflictions.
~ BKS Iyengar (Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali)
Whenever I make a choice, I will ask myself two questions: “What are the consequences of this choice that I’m making?” and “Will this choice bring fulfillment and happiness to me and also to those who are affected by this choice?”
~ Deepak Chopra
“Everyone has a purpose in life . . . a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.”
~ Deepak Chopra
