This is a jhoolan bhajan (rain song) from Vrindavan. Radhe and Krishna are celebrating rains in Vrindavan, swinging and singing… A rainbow decorates the sky, raindrops are falling…

Ganesh Bhajan lyrics – Gaaiye Ganpati Jagvandan

This bhajan is the first among a book of poems addressed by Bhakti saint Goswami Tulsidas as personal letters to his ideal, Sri Sita-Ram. This Ganpati bhajan is sung here by Muthuswamy Bharadwaj.

bhajan lyrics, gaaiye ganpati jagvandan, vinay patrika, tulsidas

gaaiye ganapati jagvandan, shankar suvan bhavaani nandan |

siddhi sadan gajavadan vinaayak, krupaa sindhu sundar sab laayak |
gaaiye ganapati jagvandan...

modak priy mud magal daataa, vidyaa baaridhi buddhi vidhaataa |
gaaiye ganapati jagvandan...

maangat tulasidaas kar jore, basahu raamasiy maanas more |
gaaiye ganapati jagvandan...

Meaning of bhajan: Gaaiye Ganpati jagvandan

I sing the praise of Ganesh, the son of Shiva and Parvati. Ganesh, who is accomplished, generous and omnipotent. He enjoys sweet modaks (laddoo, a sweet), and gives wisdom and intelligence. Tulsidas, with hands folded in prayer begs the divine power in Ganesh for the blessing that Sri Sita-Ram may always be present in my manas, mind. I pray for that pure mind which is a suitable seat for consciousness of divinity.

Mahamrityunjai mantra, lyrics and video

Mahamritunjai mantra, Sanskrit text, Shiva

Meaning of Mahamritunjay mantra

I worship the three eyed (the third eye is synonymous with wisdom) lord Shiva, who is full of fragrance and who nourishes everybody with health and vitality. May Shiva liberate me from mortality, just as a cucumber fallls off the creeper when it is fully ripe, may I live a full life...and know my immortal self.

Uses of Mahamrityunjai mantra

Chanting of the Mahamrityunjai mantra is recommended for a healthy body and mind. It is said to ward off untimely death by accidents or illness. Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh has recommended chanting the mantra on one's birthday for a minimum of 50,000 times. The video here helps recite the mantra correctly.

Mahamrityunjaya mantra comes from the Vedas. It is chanted to help fight physical or mental ailments. It brings peace and tranquility to the mind.

Kin sang khelu holi – Meera Bai, Lata Mangeshkar
